When I noticed difference...

I first noticed difference when I came to this school. I was born and raised in Prince George's County and I thought that the people would be the same when I came to the University of Maryland because it was only twenty-five minutes from my house. However, I was shocked when I saw how different I was from the other students. There are a lot of people here from out of state and they were unaware of the things that take place in the very area we lived in. People were asking me what Go-go music was and why I put mambo sauce on my chicken. I though this was hilarious, because I was sure that as soon as I stepped off this campus people would know what I was talking about. When I talk to my friends and family about going to the University of Maryland they mention the fact that I didn't go far from home, but I make sure to inform them of how different the atmosphere is there compared to the rest of the county.
